What this SMS program is

Furmiliar Faces is a hyperlocal pet registry. If you opt in, we may send transactional SMS about neighborhood pet alerts — for example when a registered pet is reported missing near your household, or time-sensitive messages needed for a recovery you are involved in. We do not use SMS for marketing blasts unrelated to those alerts.

How you opt in

SMS is off by default. After you create an account on the Furmiliar Faces app, verify your mobile number, then open Settings → Notifications and turn on the SMS toggle. Saving that preference is your consent to receive the alert messages described above. Message and data rates may apply according to your carrier.

How to opt out

Reply STOP to any Furmiliar Faces message from your enrolled phone to opt out of further SMS from that program. You can also turn off SMS anytime in the app under Settings → Notifications and save your changes.

Message frequency

Volume depends on activity in your area (for example how often neighbors file missing reports that match your alert radius). Most subscribers receive only a handful of messages per month; during quiet periods you may receive none.
